Jira integration

Jira is useful when issue work is part of how your team judges progress, ownership, and follow-through. In ClarityLoop, the point is not to recreate the backlog. It is to make important delivery context available when writing feedback, discussing goals, or preparing for 1:1s.

What Jira helps with

Use Jira when you want ClarityLoop conversations to stay anchored in real issue work, especially:

  • delivery examples behind feedback
  • issue context behind goals or OKRs
  • specific work items worth discussing in 1:1s

Who sets it up

Workspace owners install Jira for the workspace.

How to connect Jira

Jira uses the Atlassian app install flow surfaced from ClarityLoop:

  1. Open Workspace Settings > Integrations.
  2. Find Jira.
  3. Open the connection instructions in ClarityLoop.
  4. Use the install URL provided there in your Jira Apps > Manage apps flow.

For reliable user matching, Atlassian email visibility should be set to Anyone for the people you want ClarityLoop to identify correctly.

How people use it

After setup, Jira issues can be brought into ClarityLoop from Jira itself through the Add to ClarityLoop flow.

That is most useful when the issue helps answer a real question:

  • What work are we talking about?
  • What was difficult or high impact here?
  • What does this example show about someone’s judgement, collaboration, or follow-through?

How ClarityLoop uses Jira data

  • Automatic context: supported Jira flows can bring issue details and issue-level collaboration into ClarityLoop so work conversations and growth signals stay tied to real delivery work.
  • Manual linking: people can also attach a Jira issue directly in feedback, 1:1s, requests, or goals when that issue is the clearest example.

Use it well

  • install Jira only when issue context is genuinely useful in your people conversations
  • keep Atlassian account visibility and identity details clean enough for attribution to work
  • use issues selectively, not as a replacement for clear written feedback

It helps ClarityLoop match Jira users to the right people in your workspace.
