Project Management
HR+ Project Management gives teams one workspace for projects, tasks and timesheets. Employee data, reporting managers and permissions carry over from the core HR system, so you can assign work and capture delivery progress without duplicate setup.
Workspace overview
- Project › Dashboard – Metrics on total projects, in-progress work and due dates, plus charts for project and task status distribution.
- Project › Projects – Create projects, assign managers/members and upload project documentation.
- Project › Tasks – Board and list views for all project tasks, including stage management.
- Project › Timesheet – Log and review time entries per project/task.
1. Create a project
- Go to Project › Projects and click Create.
- Enter the project basics:
- Name, Description and optional supporting document.
- Status (
New,In Progress,Completed,On Hold,Cancelled,Expired). - Start Date and optional End Date; tasks cannot end outside this window.
- Project Managers and Project Members – select employees who can edit or contribute.
- Save the project. Managers can return anytime to update the status or membership.
2. Configure stages and tasks
Project stages
- Each project starts with a default To Do stage.
- Use the stage editor (available from the Tasks view) to add additional stages such as "In QA" or "Awaiting Sign-off".
- Reorder stages using drag-and-drop; the Kanban board reflects the chosen sequence.
Create tasks
- Open Project › Tasks and choose a view (Kanban or List).
- Select Create Task.
- Provide the task details:
- Title, associated Project and Stage.
- Task Managers and Task Members – multiple employees supported.
- Start/End Dates (must fall within the project dates).
- Description and optional document.
- Tasks move across stages using drag-and-drop on the Kanban board or by editing the card.
- Status automatically changes to
Expiredif the end date passes without completion.
3. Log and approve time
- Employees open Project › Timesheet and click Add Timesheet.
- Select the Project, optional Task, date worked, hours spent (HH:MM) and a short description.
- HR+ validates that the employee is a project/task member and blocks future-dated entries.
- Managers can filter and review time entries, update statuses (
In ProgressorCompleted) and export data for payroll or billing.
4. Monitor progress
- The Dashboard displays counts of new projects, projects in progress, and charts for project/task status.
- Quick links on the dashboard open filtered lists for deeper analysis (e.g., projects due this month).
- Use search and filters in both the Projects and Tasks views to focus on specific clients, owners or delivery windows.
Tips for effective delivery
- Assign at least one project manager so there is always someone with edit rights.
- Encourage contributors to keep task documents updated—files stay with the task record for future audits.
- Use task tags or naming conventions to indicate sprint numbers or release IDs; the search bar supports free text.
- Close or archive completed tasks and projects to keep the board focused on active work.
By combining projects, tasks and time tracking inside HR+, teams gain visibility into delivery while HR retains a complete view of workload and utilisation.
