Create highlights
Highlights are the workspace-wide recognition layer in ClarityLoop. Use them when you want a win, contribution, or example of great behaviour to be visible beyond a private feedback exchange.
Who this is for
Any workspace member can post a highlight.
When to post a highlight
Use a highlight when you want the whole workspace to notice something worth repeating:
- a meaningful team or company win
- a person or group you want to spotlight
- a strong example of a company value in action
- a moment that deserves shared visibility, not just private appreciation
If what you really want to share is structured feedback for one person, start with feedback. If you choose Share publicly with everyone, ClarityLoop turns that feedback into a workspace highlight.
What to include
A good highlight usually has four parts:
Headline: the short version people will see firstFull message: the context that explains what happened and why it matteredSpotlight people: the individuals you want to recognize directlyValue tags: optional, but useful when you want recognition to reinforce culture
You can also add supporting links or references if they help people understand the work.
How to create one
- Open
Org > Highlightsand choosePost Highlight. - Write a clear headline.
- Add the full message if the story needs context.
- Spotlight people if the recognition should clearly point to them.
- Add supporting links or value tags if they make the recognition more useful.
- Post the highlight.
How highlights are shared
New highlights are visible in Org > Highlights for the workspace.
On creation, ClarityLoop also sends highlight notifications to the rest of the workspace. If your workspace owner has configured a dedicated Slack highlights channel, the highlight is posted there. Without a dedicated channel, highlight notifications are delivered directly to workspace members through the normal notification flow.
Edits update the highlight in ClarityLoop, but new notifications are only triggered when the highlight is first created.
Permissions and engagement
- Any workspace member can create a highlight.
- Only the person who posted a highlight can edit or delete it.
- Any workspace member can react with emoji.
- Reactions are toggle-based, so you can add or remove your reaction later.
What makes a highlight effective
- Lead with the outcome, then explain the behaviour behind it.
- Be specific about what was done well.
- Spotlight the people who made the result possible.
- Use value tags when they genuinely clarify why the work mattered.
The best highlights do more than praise. They teach the team what good looks like.
FAQs
What is the difference between a highlight and public feedback?
A highlight is a workspace-wide recognition post. Public feedback starts as structured feedback for a person, then gets turned into a highlight when you share it publicly.
Can I add files to a highlight?
You can add supporting links and references. The highlight flow is designed around links and context, not file uploads.
Can workspace owners edit someone else's highlight?
No. Editing and deletion are limited to the person who created the highlight.
Who gets notified?
New highlights notify the rest of the workspace. If a dedicated Slack highlights channel is configured, the post goes there.
